Etude House Tint My Brows Gel #3 Gray Brown
Size: 5 g
The phenomenal peel-off tattoo has made its way to your brows! Want your brows to stay on-fleek for days? No touch-ups needed! Etude House launched its very first peel-off brow gel that leaves a natural-looking tint onto your brows without smearing and fading. This comes in a thick gel form that dries up and turns into a soft, peel-off gel. It has a long-lasting formulation and easy-to-use wand for hassle-free brow defining!
HOW TO USE
Make sure that your brows are clean, makeup-free and oil-free. Apply a liberal amount of the gel onto your brows, following its natural shape. Leave for 2 hours to let the color fully transfer (for optimum results and better color payoff, use before sleeping and peel-off the next morning.). Once completely dry, gently peel the gel off.

VERDICT
Oh no no no no. Do you see this (click to expand)?!
Here's a close up of each brow...
This is a horrible bluish green gray color that reminds me of the permanent eyebrow tattoos from my grandmother's generation...in the 90's. I think it was the 90's. I was a little girl at the time so it must've been the 90's. Anywho, there is nothing natural or nice looking about this. I tried to get the pictures to show just how horrendous looking this is, but it actually doesn't look as terrible in the pictures...but trust me, it looks atrocious in real life. I was kind of panicking at how terrible it was because this is a tint that's supposed to last for days and I did not want to leave the house or interact with anyone with my brows looking like this. Vain, I know...I should be better than that, but I couldn't help it.
This is NOT the color I was expecting. I mean look at these swatches from the site...
Do my results look anything like the gray brown tint shown in the third row? My eyebrows were completely clean, I put on a nice thick layer, and left it on for the 2 hours that it required. I don't know where I went wrong.
So disappointing. I have seen people test these on YouTube and it actually looked good on them so I was hopeful, but I guess it works better if you have a decent brow to begin with? Me...I have pitiful brows so it's not a matter of filling in some gaps and patches...for me I'm building from the ground up so perhaps if you have extremely sparse eyebrows like me you may want to avoid this. Still...I feel like if the color actually came out like the swatches it wouldn't have been that bad. Maybe I got a dud? Maybe I should've gotten a different shade? I don't know.
Thankfully, I was able to remove it though with my Nooni cleansing water and subside my panic attack...although this is supposed to be a tint that lasts for several days so in terms of how this is supposed to perform that's a fail. While I'm glad I could remove it, the whole point of this is to have a tint that lasts so you don't have to fuss with your eyebrows everyday.
The one and only thing this was good for, for me, was that while I had it on it was the perfect stencil/guide for me to pluck my eyebrows. Just because I have sparse brows doesn't mean I shouldn't still groom them and pluck the strays to keep a neat brow...right? Anywho, this was great at providing that outline so I could pluck all the unnecessary strays.
As for the removal of this product, it was actually really easy...just put on a nice thick layer like it tells you to, and it will peel off really easily and in one go. See...
I don't know if you'll be able to see in this picture, but it did pull out some of my brow hairs with it. It didn't hurt or anything so I actually didn't realize it had done that until I looked at the remnants up close.
Obviously this gets a HUGE pass from me. It takes a long time, plucks out some of your brow hairs when you remove it, and it looks unnatural and horrendous. Just stick to your normal brow routine that you know works for you. I hate to be a "Negative Nancy," but this is so not worth it.
UPDATE FROM THE NEXT MORNING: So I thought I had removed it completely yesterday, but I woke up this morning with a bright orange tinge to my brows...kind of caramel-y, but mostly orange. It was an orange-y version of shade #2 light brown, which is the middle swatch in the picture above.
If I were like a strawberry blonde then it probably would've looked ok, but contrasted against my dark hair it looked off...but it was still better then yesterday so I'll take it. Also, apparently it really does tint your brows. I thought I was successful at removing it yesterday, but apparently I wasn't.
FINAL UPDATE: So the tint lasted for about 3 days before it finally faded. My eyebrows seem to be back to normal now...and now that I've had time to fully digest the whole thing/process I gotta say, if this had tinted my brows in the correct color this would have been really nice. I think I would have really loved it actually.
It is a bit harsh when you first peel the gel off, but it does soften up...when my eyebrows turned orange the next day, I actually did like how soft and nice it was granted it was the wrong shade for me. It wasn't harsh and unnatural looking at all. If one of the three shades that they sell is right for you, I would apply it on a lazy afternoon when you don't have anything important going on and you can just lounge around and let it soften up and not look so harsh.
I'm tempted to try the other two colors to see if I can find a good shade for me, but I think I'm going to pass for now. Perhaps I will in the far future, but I'm good for now. If you decide to try it best of luck to you in finding your correct shade.
