November 18th, 2018: This stuff totally works. I had forgotten that I even had this, but I was doing some decluttering and cleaning and found this rolling around one of my drawers, so I decided to give it a whirl since I had been wanting a brightening product to use. Somehow I didn't have any on hand and so I've been waiting for Black Friday to roll around to get the Blithe 9 Essential Seeds Essence: https://ahnspired.blogspot.com/2017/04/blithe-skincare.html...but then I saw this had the words "bright" and "vitamin c" in the name, so I tried it out right away and I was not disappointed.

This is a clay mask that looks and feels like any other regular clay mask. It applies and spreads nicely and while it says it comes out of the tube lavender and turns green (here's the Sephora swatch)...

I found that it came out of the tube white...maybe a very very light mint, but definitely not lavender. Please ignore my dry crusty hand, but does this look lavender to you?

At any rate, it definitely does turn green as you massage it on the face, which was cool and made it a little more fun and interesting to use. While on the face it did sting a little bit initially, but nothing that was unbearable or anything like that and it did die down and go away as time went on, so not a big deal.

I left it on for about 8 minutes or so before rinsing it off with warm water. It does rinse off easily, but can get very messy, so I would recommend using a wet washcloth to wipe this off...I had puddles of green water all over my sink and bathroom floor and running down my neck, but maybe I'm just a messy face washer. I feel like people are so neat and pretty when washing and rinsing their face, at least the people I've seen on youtube and stuff, but I am not. I don't know how they do that because I'm just a hot mess at the sink, but there I go off on a tangent again.

Anywho, once removed, this left my face feeling so silky soft and smooth and definitely was noticeably and visibly brighter and more even toned than it was before. My face just looked a lot healthier and alert and awake and nice. I was surprised by what a noticeable difference this made on my face. Also, I felt like my skincare went on better and nicer after using this. If you're looking for a mask that will give you immediate gratification then definitely give this a try. It's not cheap, but it works and is totally worth it.

If you're more looking for a product to work wonders on the pores than I would suggest the Dr. Brandt Pores No More Mask: https://ahnspired.blogspot.com/2018/10/dr-brandt-skincare.html (which also gives you immediate gratification), but if you're looking for some immediately noticeable brightening action than definitely give this one a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed...BUT do pay attention to the precaution that they give since this does contain AHA...so remember your sunscreen.

October 24th, 2018: This stuff is AMAZING. It's got a formula that I hate, but I LOVE this stuff for one reason, a big reason...because it works...to keep the evil sleep creases at bay. Despite the fact that I hate the heavy emollient suffocating formula this has, which to be honest I don't understand why an eye cream would be formulated to be this emollient since the skin around our eyes is thinner and more delicate and it seems unnecessary, but at any rate I love this despite that because it works wonders on my eye creases.

I'm someone that shoves my face into my pillow when I sleep. I can't help it. I've tried to sleep on my back, but I invariably end up on my side with my face shoved into my pillow. It's what's comfortable and works for me and I've thought about getting one of those silk pillowcases, but they're just so plain and not pretty...which is a stupid reason for not getting one, especially if having a silk pillow really does help to protect your skin and hair as it claims, but honestly...they can also be stupid expensive. I think Sephora has one that's like $100...for a stinking pillow case! A, as in one pillow case...not two...not a set, but one pillow case.

Anywho, I also just love my current pillow cases. If you don't already know, I LOVE cute things and I found this super cute fabric at Joann's that I absolutely love and so I made my own pillow cases out of the flannel fabric and it's so stinking adorable...but it's really not skin friendly at all. My super cute and adorable pillow cases were carving deep crevices into my outer eye and ironing that sucker in like nobodies business. It was like the San Andreas fault was trying to set up shop on my outer eye. It was getting so bad and so quickly that I actually considered giving in and not using the super adorable pillow cases and trading them in for a better fabric. I even considered giving in and just buying that stupid expensive pillow case even though just the thought of spending so much on a pillow case pained me.

But then I got this in my Fall 2018 FabFitFun box and I gave it a go and omg it's amazing. It plumped that sucker right up and keeps it that way. No more sleep creases...or in my case crevices. Now I can continue to use my super adorable pillow case without having to worry about the deep crevices that were forming on my outer eye. What a win win. Although...that fabric is still not great for the skin in general...and hair too overall, so I probably shouldn't use it so much...but I mean, how cute is this print?

Sups adorable right? I made it into a bed sheet too...so maybe I should just keep it as a bed sheet and switch out the pillow cases, but oh my god I love this print. I wish they had this print in a variety of other fabric types too, but they only had this print in flannel 😞

Anywho, this is a heavy emollient cream though, so I don't apply it all over the eye. I just strategically target it to my outer eye crease just where I need it because when I first tried this and used it all over the eye area, like it suggests, it caused milia and I had little bumps forming on my eye area, which can happen when you use product that's too heavy for the skin and like I said above, the skin around your eye is thinner and more delicate so it doesn't take much...hence why I don't understand why one would create an eye cream that is so thick and emollient, which speaking of emollient this does take a bit of time and effort to pat this baby into the skin. Definitely not a quick absorber, but I've found that using it in conjunction with the anti-aging side of my Foreo does help it to sink in faster and better.

I initially thought using less product was the way to go to speed up the process and also prolong the use of this product since it ain't cheap, but that just made it less effective, so don't be stingy. Make sure to get enough of the product and just be patient or if you have a Foreo use that to help it along. It can be a bit of a pain in the ass, but it's worth it because it keeps those pesky sleep creases away. Come Black Friday, you can bet that I'll have a couple of these in my cart ready for check out...which speaking of, can you believe November is just around the corner already? The holiday season is creeping up on us! I'm so excited! I love the holidays 😍

THOUGHTS
June 25th, 2018: This looks and feels just like honey when you take it out of the pot, but as soon as you start to massage this into the skin it really does transform immediately into a thick white cream (as you can see in the pic below) which makes it easier to spread on the face. Despite being a thicker cream though it doesn't feel heavy or suffocating, although that could be because I was too distracted by the heat to notice. Speaking of, this really does heat up. I was kinda caught off guard by how fast and "hot" it got. I thought it would be a gradual warm up, but it went from 0 to 60 instantaneously.

The heat, which is pretty intense, is not like a warming temperature heat, but rather a spicy caliente heat...like if you had touched a super spicy pepper and then touched your face. That kind of heat, which is not at all what I was expecting. I was expecting this to warm up gradually and comfortably like the eye masks that I love so much. I thought what a great idea. The warmth will open up the pores so that all the skincare goodness can penetrate and work it's magic better. It's not that kind of warmth.

As soon as you stop massaging it into the face though, that spicy heat does die down. It's not as intense as it was initially massaging it around. It kind of goes away and just leaves behind a slight sensation...burning sensation? You know like after you've tried something spicy and drink milk and whatnot to calm it down, but it doesn't go back to normal right away? It's better and you're not experiencing that intense spiciness anymore, but there's still a sensation left behind? That kind of feeling. I hope that made sense and you understand what I'm trying to say. Anywho that's how your face feels...with the exception of the philtrum area (the area between your nose and your lips).

Every time I breathed out through my nose it seemed to activate that spicy heat sensation, so I continued to feel the intense spiciness there and that's where all my focus was during this whole masking session. All my attention was centered around my philtrum and trying not to breath/breath slower, so I wouldn't activate that spiciness as much and watching the clock to see if I could wash this off my face yet. If you couldn't tell already, I really did not enjoy this masking session, but I have to admit it was effective.

After I was finally able to wash this off my face (I did leave this on for the longer 15 mins despite the spicy heat), this left my face feeling very soft and smooth and supple and it looked a bit brighter and healthier and radiant as well...although I wouldn't say it was "intensely moisturizing" as described...but it is nourishing, revitalizing and smoothing. I do agree with that part of the description.

Overall I did enjoy the effects of this mask...just not the actual masking session. Perhaps I would enjoy it better if it were wintertime, but again it's not really so much a temperature heat as it is touched a spicy pepper heat so...spicy is spicy whether it's summer or winter so perhaps I would still feel the same way even if it were cold...although I did have my A/C going when I used this since it's hot outside so that defeats the whole purpose of this train of thought.

Anywho, that sort of spicy burning sensation that I'm having trouble describing lasts even after you wash it off and lingers for a bit...I think it lasted for about another hour or so after washing it off. It truly is just like eating a spicy pepper. Even after you've drank the milk and calmed it down it doesn't truly go away and you don't go back to feeling normal for awhile. It takes time, as does this mask.

Looking at the ingredient list I see that it does contain ginger, which if you've ever had ginger then you know it can be quite spicy, so I wonder if that's where the spicy heat is coming from, but I just did not enjoy that spicy sensation which lingers even after you wash it off...which is probably why I'm gonna say it's a pass for me despite the excellent results. There are other products out there that give amazing results without the torture...ok torture is a bit dramatic, but without the uncomfortableness, which is why I honestly don't see myself reaching for this ever again.

If it weren't for that spiciness I would say this is awesome and recommend that you check it out, but man I really did not enjoy that spicy sensation...as if you couldn't tell by all the complaining I did in this review...btw, how many times have I said spicy in this post? But I can't help it. It really got to me and that's all I think about and that comes to mind when I think about this product, but maybe it's just me. Am I crazy? Has my skin just become super sensitive? It does have great reviews on the Sephora website, although like I said above it does give great results and is effective...it's just that dang masking session is uncomfortable, but I don't see anyone else complaining about it...although I only skimmed through a few of the reviews. Have any of you tried this? What was your experience like? I'd love to know.

THOUGHTS

November 9th, 2018: Meh. I felt very indifferent about this mask, which is not how I should feel after using a pricey $9 sheet mask. If I'm spending that much money on a single use sheet mask that I'm throwing into the trash after a few minutes of use, then I should be super impressed, but I'm not. I can't even say that it's good. Not that it's terrible...it didn't do anything bad to my face, but the problem is that it didn't do anything...at all. It was like it never happened...like I never used it. It did not clean, much less deep clean and it did not reveal glowing skin like it claims above. I didn't even smell the fresh citrus which was supposed to invigorate my senses. I got a big fat nothing.

I will say that I loved the texture of the sheet mask...it's made of that plush velvety soft material that I LOVE for sheet masks, but that's about it in terms of positive things I like about this mask. While it did bubble up, I've definitely tried others that bubble up much more than this did, and I had to wear it for longer than the 3 minutes they tell you to leave it on for, for it to really start to bubble up and for some reason it didn't bubble up in certain spots as you can see in the pic below. I don't know why it didn't bubble up all over uniformly.

Anywho, it just didn't do anything. I had to go in with my normal cleanser after using this because my face did not feel clean at all. It just felt like I rinsed it with water. I mean I'm glad it didn't do anything negative...it didn't irritate my face or make me breakout or anything, so I guess nothing is better than having a bad or adverse reaction, but this was a total waste of time and money and therefore gets a big fat pass from me. If you want a bubble mask that actually works and does something and is much cheaper than the $9 that this one is, then I would suggest Berrisom's Oops Soda Bubble Mask - Poretox: https://ahnspired.blogspot.com/2016/11/berrisom-skincare.html. Even though that one doesn't cover the entire face and is only used on the lower half of the face, it is leaps and bounds better than this one.

October 19th, 2018: Oh boy, this made me break out so bad...in all fairness though it does warn you that it's not for sensitive skin, but it's a clay mask and I've tried a lot of clay masks and specifically Kaolin clay masks like this one before so I figured I would give it a go anyways...I so regret that.

I had been wearing a lot of makeup lately and my pores felt yucky and like they needed a deep cleaning, so I decided to whip this out to try. Application was fine. It was a thinner liquid-y mud/clay formula, so it spread and applied nicely. It does smell like licorice, which is not my favorite scent, but not a big deal. However, immediately after I had applied it...it started to sting and burn and as time went on it only got worse and worse. It got to a point where I just had to get it off my face. I had it on for about 6-7 minutes before I had to tap out and just go and wash it off my face and my face was not happy. After removing my face was red and splotchy and in an effort to calm it I sprayed on a crap ton of calming and soothing toners and essences and went in with hydrating serums and moisturizers. Despite that the damage had apparently already been done. I woke up the next morning with the worst breakout...which sucked considering how well my skin was doing.

My guess is that my skin did not like all the acids that are in here because as I stated above, I have used a lot of different clay masks before and specifically Kaolin clay masks like this one is before and I've never had this issue...but shame on me for not listening to the products warning...although If you've been reading my blog for awhile now then you know that I'm always confused about whether I have sensitive skin or not. Sometimes I'm afraid it's going to be sensitive and it's resilient and sometimes I think it'll be fine but it's not, so I can never tell, but this time around it very much was sensitive. Uber sensitive, so if you have the slightest inkling that you might have sensitive skin than I would just say stay away...listen to GlamGlow's warning and stay far far away. This is not the product for you.

October 29th, 2018: I really liked this product. It was super easy to apply. It's got a gel texture that just glides right on and it's got little beads that burst as you apply it and you can see it as the color starts to change as you apply it.

They mention in their "how to use" blurb that a cooling sensation will occur, but I didn't feel any cooling sensations. It did sting initially as I was applying it to my face, but that died down and went away rather quickly and it was fine. It turns blue as it dries and it did start to feel tight like most clay/mud masks do, but it didn't feel drying.

I left it on for 5 mins of the recommended 5-10 minutes because I was afraid it might irritate my skin...even though the stinging went away quickly I was still a little concerned especially after the GlamGlow mud mask fiasco and I feel like my face has just been really sensitive in general lately, so I took it off right at the 5 minute mark and was pleased to find that my face was not irritated at all. Not in the slightest. In fact it was the opposite. My skin looked and felt really good.

It removed really easily with warm water and after removal this left my pores feeling clean and purged, but still very much hydrated and moisturized...it didn't strip my skin at all. It also left my face feeling super soft and silky smooth and my pores actually appeared smaller. They say it's not possible to actually shrink the size of one's pores, but this totally made them appear much smaller like it claims. That's probably where the tightness is coming from...it temporarily tightening the pores to make them appear smaller, but it also left my face looking more even toned and clear. I feel like it actually reduced the redness in my face.

This gets a two thumbs up from me and I would definitely recommend giving this a go, even though it is pricey, which is the only con I have for this product...oh wait, there's one more "con". I forgot about the scent. This does not smell good, but it's not strong and it dissipates quickly so not a big deal. You can smell it as you're applying it, but it goes away and you can't smell it while it's on the face. Rinsing your face kinda sorta activates the scent a teeny bit, but again it dies down and goes away really quickly and it's never a strong scent so it's a "con" but a negligible one in my opinion hence the quotes.

I whole heartedly agree with all of the claims that this product makes, so if you are looking for an effective mask to purge your pores that doesn't strip your skin and actually leaves you with a satin-y, even toned, hydrated, silky soft and smooth complexion with smaller looking pores than this is for you. Also, I love how thin and lightweight the formula is. It's a clay/mud mask, but it's like a super lightweight gel type version that has a super thin formula making it super easy and quick to apply and remove...so even though it's very pricey at $42 I would have to begrudgingly say it's worth the price. This is definitely the best and my most favorite #1 product when it comes to the clay/mud mask pore purging category.

May 11th, 2017 - Youth to the People Kale + Spinach + Green Tea Superfood Cleanser: Meh...the cleanser is a pass for me. While it is nice, it's a decently hydrating cleanser that will leave your skin feeling soft and smooth, it's nothing that I can't find elsewhere for cheaper and/or better...and at $36 a pop, it should be mind-blowingly awesome, but it's not.

Although, if you're someone that's very ingredient, brand, and eco-conscious this is a brand that's more conscientious about what they put in their products and are vegan and earth friendly and cruelty free...which is probably why it costs so much more than other cleansers. And since it's such a natural brand, perhaps it would be great for sensitive skin? There aren't any harsh ingredients and its formulated with superfoods like kale, spinach and green tea amongst other great ingredients like aloe, alfalfa, panthenol, and Vitamins A, E and C...but still at any rate, I have no plans on purchasing a full size of this.

Update - June 3rd, 2017: This performs so much better with a Foreo device. Using it with my hands or my manual face brush was fine, but like I said above it wasn't anything special...using it with my Foreo device though it performs soooo much better. Used with the Foreo, my face was left feeling super soft and silky smooth and so much more hydrated and nice than when I had used it without the Foreo. The texture of my skin...I just love how silky soft and smooth it left my face.

Now, I still don't have any plans to drop $36 on a full sized bottle of this, although I was on the fence and did contemplate it for awhile, but if it were on sale and at a cheaper price point then I certainly would...like if I could get it for $15-$20, but $36 just seems like so much money to pay for a cleanser even if it is chock full of antioxidants since it's a product that doesn't even stay on your face for very long. However, if you have money to burn and a Foreo device then I say go for it.

May 11th, 2017 - Youth to the People Kale + Spinach+ Hyaluronic Acid Superfood Cream: While I wasn't the biggest fan of the cleanser, I LOVE this cream. This too is expensive, but it's totally worth it in my opinion and I definitely want to go pick up a full size tub of this. It's such a silky smooth silicon-y feeling gel-like cream formula that just glides onto the skin. It's very lightweight and sinks in beautifully leaving you with a soft, smooth, hydrated and radiant complexion. It just feels so good on the skin and being that it's such a lightweight gel-like cream formula I think it will be the perfect moisturizer for the upcoming hot summer months.

BTW, while this is expensive, it's still $10 cheaper than the Givenchy Hydra Sparkling Velvet Luminescence Moisturizing Cream, which BTW I've fallen out of love with. This is soooo much better than that. I don't know what it is, but I feel like the formula for the full size was a bit different from the sample size because I loved the sample that I got, which is why I went and bought the full size tub of the Givenchy cream despite the price, but something about it was just slightly off. It wasn't the same.

Anywho, this isn't about Givenchy, it's about Youth to the People and I say the Superfood Cream is definitely a must have for the summer. I only wish I had tried it and realized how much I loved it before the recent Sephora VIB sale, so I could've at least gotten a little bit of a sale on it. Oh, well...still worth it and I will still buy it.

VERDICT

April 30th, 2017: I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I do. I figured it would just be another lip gloss that would sit in my ginormous collection of lip glosses and get used maybe once in a long while or never, but I've actually been reaching for it non-stop since I got it.

For me, this is pretty much my exact lip color except maybe a hair pink-er, so it's the perfect everyday lip gloss for me. This makes my lips look healthy, juicy, shiny and smooth and truly gives me a my lips but better look except it comes with the added bonus of a healthy shine. Also, it actually is very hydrating. While the shine does wear off, the lip gloss itself actually has some staying power and keeps your lips nicely coated and hydrated thanks to the hyaluronic acid that has been added into the formula...I'm assuming. Side note, if you weren't already aware, Hyaluronic Acid is known to hold 1000 times it's weight in water, so it's a well known and loved ingredient for hydration.

My lips have been in rough shape lately, and I feel like this has definitely helped to keep them hydrated and aid in repairing them. While I wouldn't say it's as good as my holy grail ChapStick® Total Hydration 3 in 1 - Coconut Hydration: https://ahnspired.blogspot.com/2016/06/chapstick.html, it performs pretty gosh darn well in the hydrating and moisturizing department...as well as, if not better than some other regular lip balms...like the eos lip balms. I definitely prefer the hydrating powers of this lip gloss over the eos lip balms.

Anywho, the formula has a good grip to it, so it sticks to the lips and lasts for a long while, but it's not sticky or tacky feeling in the slightest...it's very comfortable to wear. I do like the wider rounded flat paddle doe foot applicator, but it does seem to be a little too big for the lip gloss tube. You kind of have to yank it out and force it back in...it's not a smooth and effortless process. They should've made the opening a little bigger to accommodate the wider applicator, but it doesn't bother me...although it may bother others, so FYI.

If you're looking for a good hydrating lip gloss that performs as well as a lip balm that you don't have to constantly reapply, then I would recommend giving this one a try. While you do have to reapply at some point, especially if you want to keep the shine, you don't have to as much as you would with other lip glosses. I only reapply this once, maybe twice a day (depending on how long my day goes) and that's it...pretty much after I've eaten is when I reapply.

This comes in eight different shades, according to Ulta, and I think I want to go get the red one in Deep Cherry. I kind of want Vibrant Raspberry as well, but it looks pretty similar to the Radiant Rose that I have, except a little bit brighter and berry toned, so I don't know about that one (as I have more than enough lip glosses in my collection) but I definitely do want the cherry one since I love to wear reds when I'm not wearing nudes.

VERDICT

MARCH 16th, 2017: I've been meaning to review this for awhile now, but I'm just now finally getting to it. This was the Fresh holiday skincare kit that I got from Sephora back in December, so I doubt it's still available, but all these are sold individually and linked below.

This entire set was a bit too gentle for my liking. If you're someone that has very sensitive skin then you'll probably like this set...it's probably why my cousin likes their products so much because she has SUPER sensitive finicky skin, but I do not. Not to say that these products are all bad, but just not for me. The only product that I did like from this set was the Lip Treatment.

Not a fan of the scent, but it does perform very well. This smells like cucumbers, which some people may find refreshing and like, but I personally do not. This is an extremely gentle, very thin, barely there, semi-milky gel cleanser that is non-foaming. The look and texture of this cleanser kind of reminds me of...sorry for the gross analogy but well...quite frankly...it reminds me of runny snot, but like a non-sticky slick version. It's a liquid-y, runny, gel formula that is kind of chunky-ish...well not chunky, but squirts out in a blob like form that looks like snot. Like I said this is non-foaming, so it doesn't lather up in the slightest at all. It actually kind of feels like you're cleansing your face with a liquid-y aloe vera gel or something of the sort.

Anywho, despite feeling too thin and gentle for my liking and being 100% completely non-foaming/lathering, this actually does a really good job. Like I said, it feels like you're using aloe vera gel to cleanse the face so when I was using it, it didn't feel like it was doing much to cleanse the face, but once I rinsed it off and dried my face this left it nicely cleansed, hydrated, super soft and a bit smoother.

However, despite being a very good cleanser, I still don't like it and wouldn't repurchase it because I don't like the texture...although it would probably be a great cleanser to use if I had a sunburn. I think I would actually like it that particular circumstance, but that's about it. It just feels too thin and gentle and not like a cleanser for my liking, but if you have very sensitive skin like my cousin you would probably enjoy it, and like I said it is very good. I just don't like the texture.

BTW, this pairs very well with a Foreo device if you use one.

This was a little too lightweight and gentle, so much so that it didn't really seem to do much of anything. At least for me. It's got a thinner texture that just seemed to disappear into the skin without doing anything. It wasn't very hydrating. It wasn't illuminating or radiant. Honestly, I didn't notice any differences. It just disappeared into the skin.

I'm someone that has combo skin, oily t-zone with normal u-zone during the summer, and pretty normal-ish skin with a couple dry patches during the winter and this was not hydrating enough for me. When I used this, I woke up with dry skin the next morning...so I tried using a thicker layer the following evening, but I still woke up with dry skin. I tried layering on even more of the face cream the evening after that, but yet again I still woke up with dry skin.

If you have super oily skin then perhaps you'll like this since it's lightweight, thin, and not that emollient, but if you have combo-dry skin it's not going to provide enough moisture for your skin...at least not during the winter. Maybe it would be better during the hot summer months, but I'm not about to go buy this just to see if it might be better during the summer. This stuff is not cheap.

Again, too gentle for my liking. This barely exfoliates...if at all. The particles are too fine and gentle to really do much in my opinion. If you're someone with SUPER sensitive skin then this would be perfect for you, but for me it just wasn't strong enough.

It is a bit dry the first few uses, but once you break past the initial...I guess topcoat or barrier it gets better. I really like how it glides and melts onto your lips, has the perfect hint of color that isn't too sheer or pigmented, and does a great job of moisturizing.

It is expensive for what it is, but it is a good product that I love and am constantly reaching for. I love slathering this on to run errands, bum around the house, for no-makeup days, and natural no-makeup makeup days.

Plus, this contains sunscreen.
