The Face Shop Quick Hair Puff - #2 Dark Brown
Size: 7 g
This fill-in powder makes your hair appear more voluminous. A puff applicator allows for build-able color intensity, while the oil-absorbing formula ensures a matte, natural finish.
Waterproof Powder: Long-lasting and easy to apply. Easy to fill-out hairlines. Cover graying-hairs.
Black Bean and Moringa Oil: Making Healthier hairs.
HOW TO USE
Remove the sealing lid. Apply to hair by tapping the powder on your hairlines.
VERDICT
May 19th, 2017: This actually does work. It's a powder formula that is distributed onto the scalp via a sponge head applicator (as you can see in the pic above) that you tap/pat into your scalp. It dispenses nicely and evenly and I don't have any issues with the applicator, which makes it easy to apply without making a mess.
I don't know that it makes your hair appear more voluminous, but it does make it look very nice by addressing any hair/scalp concerns that you may have. It does a great job of filling in your scalp line or any bald spots and covering grays and acting like a dry shampoo soaking up the oils in your hair to matte-ify your scalp.
As for transfer, I have taken naps with it in my hair and it didn't transfer onto my pillow...not one single speck. It didn't transfer onto my clothes either while changing with it in my hair. However, anytime I touched my hair/ran my fingers through my hair or would rest my head in my hands in a spot that I had the powder or finger brush and tie my hair, it would get under my nails and transfer onto my skin which was annoying.
It doesn't seem to transfer onto any other surface, but for whatever reason it transfers onto skin and under the nails like crazy...it's the weirdest thing, but because of that I stopped reaching for it because it got real messy and I felt it was more trouble than it was worth dealing with the skin/nail transfer situation.
My nails were looking so filthy and it was hard cleaning it out from underneath my nails. It would sort of stain my nails and get stuck in there...and it kind of stains the skin as well. You gotta give your fingers/hand a good scrub to remove it...but despite the skin/nail transfer it doesn't fade from your hair/scalp and will remain there until your next shampoo session. Also, I got the darker of the only 2 shades that are available and despite being called Dark Brown, it was still a bit too light for my hair. It was more of a medium true brown than a dark brown.
If you're someone that has the self restraint to not touch your hair then this might be the product for you, but like I said I feel it's more trouble than it's worth...which is a shame because I really liked it as a dry shampoo and it did a great job of filling in the scalp lines to make my hair look nice...it also did a great job of covering my mother's gray's between dye jobs, but alas I got tired of having filthy looking nails/hands.
