VERDICT
May 21st, 2017: Meh...it's ok. I wish I had gotten the Apple instead of the Strawberry, but regardless it's got a nice mousse-y lightweight formula that transforms into a gloss like texture that is non-sticky/non-tacky...it almost wants to be and creeps up to that sticky/tacky line, but it doesn't actually cross it. It's also hydrating and feels comfortable on the lips, but it's not as pigmented in real life as it looks in the lip swatches above. It is pigmented considering it's a lip gloss and you can build it up, but it still doesn't look like it does above, and it isn't as shiny and juicy as it looks in the swatches they provide either. However, the one quality that I absolutely love about this product is the scent. It smells so yummy and delicious...like candy. It reminds me of my childhood. It smells like the asian candies that my mom and grandma used to let me have as a child and I absolutely love the scent.
Like I said, I got mine in the Strawberry shade because...don't judge me, but I thought the graphic on the packaging for the strawberry was the cutest, but honestly I should've gotten the apple since I like reds more than I like pinks and I don't think pinks look that great on me...although honestly the actual product, well at least the tube that I got swatches differently than what is shown above. As you can see in my not so great swatch below, its much more of a straight up bubblegum pink vs. the reddish hot pink that is show in their swatch (the middle swatch is strawberry).
While it is cute and very tiny and compact so it's great to take on the go with you, I feel like for $4 you can do better. For example, I much prefer the TonyMoly Petite Bunny Glosses. Depending on the shade and where you buy it, you can find it for around the same price. Amazon has some in the $4-$5 range and iHerb has a few for $5.39. The Petite Glosses also have cute packaging, are glossy like a lip gloss, more hydrating, more comfortable and lightweight, also have a tint of color, etc: https://ahnspired.blogspot.com/2016/01/tony-moly.html. Now, I'm not saying this is a bad product, but it's not great and I personally much prefer the TonyMoly. If you asked me, that would be my recommendation.
Oh, and while it does leave a bit of a tint, it mostly seems to tint the outer perimeter of my lips and not the inner part, so it looks more like I lined my lips with a lipliner...although I suppose that's because I drink a ton of water throughout my day and that wears it off on the center of my lips. Also, I forgot to mention, I'm not a fan of the applicator.
Makes the application more messy and less precise and can make the product bunch up in certain spots. I always like to take a finger and smooth it over my lips to make sure it's evenly distributed or sometimes I will just squeeze it out onto my finger directly and then use my finger to apply the product.
Top swatch is a couple layers...bottom swatch is a huge glob of product.
