CosRx (Skincare)

CosRx Holy Moly Snail Mask
Size: 21ml
Holy Moly! This snail mask is not kidding around - our skin is noticeably firmer and more moisturized after just one use.

This sheet mask is Cosrx's first foray into the competitive mask world, and they snailed it! Enriched with everyone's fave Snail Mucin and Red Ginseng Water instead of regular water, this amazing mask nourishes and moisturizes skin on another level. Snail Mucin delivers lasting nutrients, plumping, firming, elasticizing, and hydrating skin. Plus, the sheet is a pretty peachy shade infused with Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, soothing skin while you slow down and kick back.

HOW TO USE
Apply mask on cleansed and toned face. Relax for 15 to 20 minutes, then remove. Gently pat remaining essence for better absorption.

Memetips: Keep refrigerated prior to use for an enhanced soothing and de-puffing effect. This moisturizing mask is especially great for dehydrated skin.

THOUGHTS
January 31st, 2017: I am finally back from my skincare hiatus, and I decided to pickup where I left off with this snail mask from CosRx because snail mucin is supposed to be really awesome and healing for the skin and CosRx is a great skincare company/brand...although this is apparently (according to the description) their first foray into the sheet mask market.

Anywho, this is made of a thicker cotton material that has a slight peachy hue to it and no detectable scent as far as I could tell. In terms of fit, it's pretty average width-wise but falls a bit short length-wise...mostly the forehead area as you can see in the pic below. Same with the eye holes. Fine width-wise, but falls short length-wise so it's more like slits than holes. The mouth hole isn't very big either. I did manage to stretch it out slightly, but because it's a thicker cotton material it doesn't have much give to it so if you need to adjust it any more than that I would suggest using scissors.

As for the actual performance, this wasn't that cooling on the face...it was a lit bit, but not that much. Once removed the leftover serum wasn't sticky or tacky in the slightest. It is however a slightly thicker formula and there was still a nice amount of serum left over so it took a bit longer to completely sink in then the average sheet mask, but it did eventually sink in completely and nicely after a few minutes.

Because this sheet mask is soaked in a slightly thicker formula serum I found it to be a lot more moisturizing than the average sheet mask, but it's not heavy or emollient feeling at all. It just feels really nice and hydrating. It also left my face feeling not silky soft and smooth, but more satiny soft and smooth...and what I mean by that is while my face is still soft and smooth it's a little bit more of a plastic-y soft and smooth than the traditional soft as a babies bottom silky soft and smooth.

Also, while I do feel like it was nourishing, I didn't find it to be firming or plumping at all. I didn't notice any improvement to the elasticity of my skin or any other anti-aging benefits. It was, however, calming. This seemed to help calm down a lot of the usual redness on my cheeks, which in turn probably attributed to why my face also seem a bit brighter as well.

Overall, I would say this makes for a good everyday mask. Nothing spectacular, but still good...if you're just looking for hydration and calming benefits. At $3 a pop though, it is a bit on the expensive side (although you could probably find it for a cheaper elsewhere) to use as an everyday sheet mask, so I currently have no plans to repurchase this...I would rather use a sheet mask from Banobagi: https://ahnspired.blogspot.com/2016/05/banobagi.html, which is better in my opinion and a bit cheaper as well.

THOUGHTS
This is my first time trying out acne patches and not gonna lie...I was a little skeptical. I thought how is this little frosted silicon-y disk thing supposed make a difference? Because honestly it felt like I was just sticking a round piece of silicone tape on my face, but boy do these little guys pack a big punch. It does an amazing job of extracting the gunk and clearing out the acne allowing your pimple/zit to heal and go away faster. I also love that it acts as a barrier to protect itself from the elements.

Now, this is not a miracle worker...it's not going to make your acne instantly disappear, but it will drastically speed up the whole process and make it go away faster. Definitely a must have item. I already repurchased a bunch more of these.

Size: 150 ml
COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser is your deep facial cleanser and gentle skin exfoliator in one! This contains BHA and Tea Tree Oil which is a perfect blend of ingredients beneficial to improving the skin’s texture and complexion. It gently removes dead skin cells and excessive sebum to allow the skin to effectively regenerate healthier skin cells. This results to smoother, softer and fairer skin.

HOW TO USE
On wet face, dispense a pea-sized amount of the cleanser and massage gently all over the face until it lathers. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

INGREDIENTS
Water, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, Polysorbate 20, Styrax Japonicus Branch/Fruit/Leaf Extract, Butylene Glycol, Saccharomyces Ferment, Cryptomeria Japonica Leaf Extract, Nelumbo Nucifera Leaf Extract, Pinus Palustris Leaf Extract, Ulmus Davidiana Root Extract, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Flower Extract, Pueraria Lobata Root Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Allantoin, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Betaine Salicylate, Citric Acid, Ethyl Hexanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Sodium Benzoate, Disodium EDTA

THOUGHTS
Not sure this is really doing anything for me. I like that it's a nice gentle cleanser that gets my face clean and doesn't irritate my face, but beyond that I don't really have much to say...other than it smells bad. Not unbearably bad, but it does not smell nice...probably due to the tea tree. If you know what tea tree smells like than you'll have an idea of what this smells like.

I really wanted to like this product, but I'm just kind of meh about this product. People with very sensitive skin and/or acne prone skin would probably like this a lot better than I do because of how gentle it is while still getting your face clean, but I want more from my cleanser. I would much rather stick to my Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Foam Cleanser which not only gets my face clean, but it also leaves it very soft and smooth and supple and hydrated and I like how it smells and how creamy and lathery it is.

I will still use this up of course, but definitely have no plans to repurchase.

UPDATE: In my efforts to not be wasteful and use this up completely, I've come to find that this has grown on me. It's kind of like one of those songs that at first you're like meh...whatever, but then you hear it some more and it starts to grow on you and you're like ok, not bad...and then you hear it some more and find your yourself bobbing your head and dancing to it, and then you hear it some more and before you know you've come to really like the song. This cleanser is like that. Now that I've completely used up this cleanser I've come to find that I really did enjoy it and it was a really nice cleanser. Still not my all time #1 favorite, but it has grown on me a lot and I am a bit sad to see it go.

CosRx Naturally Embo Cotton Puff

A unique cotton puff made from 100% cotton perfect for applying your favorite skincare products. These cotton puffs have a special texture which allows the skincare product to be fully absorbed by the skin therefore maximizing the product’s effectivity. It is made to be germ-free to prevent any bacteria from sitting with the skincare product.

HOW TO USE
Use the cotton pad when applying toner, makeup remover or nail polish remover. Dispose properly after a single use.
THOUGHTS
I love these cotton pads. They're soft yet strong and I love the ribbing/texture. These don't tear or leave lint on my face and despite being a smaller pad, I find that one pad is still sufficient enough for my entire face.

My only "con" if you want to call it that is that I wish they sold a huge box of these. I mean I suppose I could just order multiple boxes, but I wish they had a giant Costco sized pack that I could order and just forget about.

Will definitely be repurchasing again when I run out. If you're someone on the hunt for a good cotton pad I would recommend giving these a try.
