VERDICT
June 13th, 2017: These modeling masks feel so good on the face. This one is especially great post-hike. It's so cooling and refreshing and not only does it feel good and relaxing sitting on the face, but as intended, this left my face calm and soothed and hydrated and it left my skin feeling so nice and happy after being out in the sun hiking up a mountain.

If you're needing something that's very hydrating and soothing and calming then I would recommend checking this out. It's got a great formula (see below) that works and doesn't disappoint.

June 13th, 2017: Usually modeling masks come in powder form and you have to add water to it or the included mixing agent to form the paste. This does not come in powder form, but rather a translucent gel that's got a rosy tint to it with a white milky liquid to mix. Because of that, this is less rubbery in texture and feels more like...slime. It "dries" down into slime...like the kids toy and I put the word dried in quotes because it retains a wet slippery feel to it. If you've ever played with slime then you know what I'm talking about. It's  a solid, but it still feels very slippery and wet...but it's not.

Due to the gel like slime texture, this is very cooling and refreshing on the face, and because of that interesting texture I feel like it REALLY pushes the moisture into your skin and does an awesome job of hydrating your skin. Also, because it's not a powder that you're mixing with water, but rather two essence type formulas I feel like it's a more potent formula and therefore great to use as a more intensive masking session. This pink/purple variation is for hydration and brightening and it definitely hydrated and left my face with a nice healthy radiant glow afterwards.

Now, the directions instruct you to mix this together in the pill shaped container, but that is not practical as it's got a rounded bottom and does not stand up on it's own for you to squeeze the products out so I just used a separate mixing bowl. Also, I wasn't a fan of the included spatula. It works and does it's job, but I much prefer the spatula that I got in the Lindsay modeling mask kit. The edges on this spatula weren't the smoothest and therefore it was a little scratchy on the skin.

Because of the slippery wet gel formula, this was easier to remove than a traditional modeling mask, not that it's hard to begin with but a traditional modeling mask does leave behind a bit of residue. This formula however leaves no residue behind. It all just slips off the face really easily. Also, this does have a scent to it, but it's not overwhelming or overpowering and I didn't mind it in the least. I feel like it kind of wants to try and smell like roses, but it doesn't quite get there.

Anywho, overall I really enjoyed this mask. Do I prefer this over a traditional modeling mask though? Umm...I don't know. I do really love this modeling mask, but I also really love the Ettang powder modeling masks as well: https://ahnspired.blogspot.com/2016/04/ettang.html, so I think it would depend on how my skin is doing in that moment. I think if I felt my skin needed a more intensive treatment and was really needing some hydration than I would use this, whereas the Ettang mask, while also very hydrating, I would just use on a more regular basis to keep my skin happy and status quo.
