THOUGHTS

March 11th, 2017: This smells really good. I don't know what dragon fruit actually smells like, but this product has a fruity sweet scent that I like. In terms of results, however, I'm just kind of meh about it. It's got a drier clay formula, so while it's not difficult to apply I've definitely tried smoother, glidier (is that even a word?), easier to spread mud/clay products.

Once it's on the face, this thing burns. It says in the description that it'll give you a tingly and cooling sensation, but it's not tingly or cooling...it just burns. Not to the point where I had to take it off, and it does start to fade as it dries, but it gives you a pretty good burning sensation initially.

As it dries down it does feel a bit dry and tight, but it actually isn't as bad as the other mud/clay masks that I've tried. Ironically, even though this is less dry and tight and more hydrating feeling while it's on the face, it leaves your face feeling very matte once it's washed off. The other mud/clay masks that I've tried and love are the opposite...they are extremely drying and tight feeling while on the face, but surprisingly hydrating, soft and smooth afterwards so this one was the complete opposite. Better feeling while drying on the face, but not as great results afterwards. Not that it completely dries out your face, but it doesn't leave you with super soft and smooth skin like some others I've tried have. Also, it does brighten the face but I don't feel like it does much else. I don't feel like it made much of a difference with my pores.

I love the scent, the cute packaging and the fact that it's a fun pink, which is a nice change of pace from the usual grey/green/brown most mud/clay masks are, but there is much better out there in my opinion. The description sounds awesome, but unfortunately it doesn't quite live up to it. You can get two uses out of each capsule, so there's enough for 6 uses in this set and at $6 for the trio that equals to $1 per masking session so it's very affordable, but I would still pass on this. Not bad, but like I said there's better.

VERDICT

January 6th, 2017: This sheet mask was made of a gauzy mesh-like material that was drenched in a caramel jelly serum, and even though it was a viscous jelly type serum it was ever so slightly drippy, but not a big deal...especially since there was soooo much left over jelly serum that I had already smeared all over my neck, chest, hands and arms. This is a bit bigger than your average sheet mask, so it actually fit my face really nicely all around. It didn't cover it entirely, but almost. I would've preferred a mouth hole that was a bit bigger, but it was fine as were the eye holes.

It was nice and cooling and refreshing while on the face, and once removed there was a ton of serum still left over on my face so it did take a few minutes to sink in, but it wasn't sticky or tacky at all. It was very hydrating, I didn't even feel the need to finish off the rest of my skincare, and it left my face softer, smoother, brighter and more radiant. Plus, this didn't irritate my skin in the slightest like the Pore Care and Revitalizing variation did.

Overall I think this is a really nice solid sheet mask, and much better than the other two variations that I tried. This is on the pricier side averaging about $5/sheet mask, so I don't know that I would repurchase this unless I could get it on sale, but otherwise I say go for it and give it a try if you want. I, however, will be sticking to the Banobagi sheet masks: https://ahnspired.blogspot.com/2016/05/banobagi.html, which are also a jelly serum sheet mask that is awesome and much cheaper at $2/sheet mask.

VERDICT

This is a nice everyday sheet mask. It was made from a gauzy material that was drenched in a caramel jelly like serum. It fit nicely all around and the eye holes fit nicely as well...wish the mouth hole was a bit bigger, but it still fit my lips.

It was very cooling and refreshing while on the face, and once removed it did take a few minutes for the serum to sink in as it left behind a nice layer of the jelly serum but it wasn't sticky or tacky which was nice. Performance wise, this did provide a nice layer of hydration and once the serum sank in completely my face did seem a bit brighter and radiant, but I don't think it's anything to write home about. Nothing spectacular or unique to distinguish this from the mass of sheet masks out there...this is just a nice everyday filler mask.

It did make my cheeks a little bit splotchy though...nothing major, just a little bit, but nonetheless it did make my cheeks a bit splotchy so this is a pass for me, but if you can find this for $1...maybe $2 then this would be a fine everyday filler mask to try...but I don't know that I would pay more than that.

VERDICT

I freaking LOVE these Ultru mud sheet masks. They are so amazing and awesome. Just like with the soothing variation, I loved the no mess easy application process, it felt cooling on the face, and it gave fantastically phenomenal results. The fit was completely on par with the soothing variation as well...it completely fit my face lengthwise (it was actually a little bit too long), but it was not big enough widthwise to cover the side perimeter of my face.

One "con" if you will this time around...as the time passed and it started to dry out and get tight (which it does get very dry, hard, and tight) it did start to get a little bit uncomfortable feeling, but I think that's because I don't think I placed it properly. It was ok in certain spots of my face, but not in others...particularly around my right under eye, my left upper eye/eyebrow, left crevice of my nose and the lower left corner of my mouth, but I think if I had placed it better then I wouldn't have had this one issue.

Because it was getting so uncomfortable as it dried I really wanted to remove it, but the instructions say to leave it on for 30-40 mins and then goes on to suggest you leave it on for longer rather than shorter...they say the longer you leave it on the more effective it will be so I powered through and left it on for the full 40 min. and I'm so glad I did because OMG the results were AMAZING.

Again, just like the soothing variation, when I went to remove this it had an odd mixture of having a strong pull which was effective at removing the dead skin cells and pulling everything out as it had dried and hardened and completely stuck to my face, yet being "gentle" at the same time and being easy to pull off with no pain or irritation and pulling out of hairs...however, that said, if you have super sensitive skin I don't know that it would be gentle enough for you. It was completely fine for me, and my skin can be sensitive at times, but generally overall I don't have sensitive skin.

Once removed, my face was so crazy obnoxious baby's bottom smooth and soft and my pores were so clean and small it was ridiculous. I know you can't actually shrink your pores, but this baby did an amazing job of giving that illusion. My pores appeared to be the smallest it's ever been...tightening indeed. On top of that my face was brighter and because my face was so obnoxiously smooth it was reflecting light like crazy giving me an awesome radiant glow...oh and of course so weird, but it was hydrating as well. I don't understand how it can feel so drying and tight while on the face, but so soft and hydrated once removed, but it is.

Definitely give this five stars, two thumbs up, and a green light as a must try. Your skin will thank you. I can't say enough good things about this. I absolutely love it and it's definitely my holy grail mud masking system. This is totally worth the $6 that it costs.

This sheet mask was made of a porous mesh-like cotton material soaked in a caramel jelly serum, and because of the viscous jelly type serum it wasn't drippy at all even though it was seriously drenched. It fit my face nicely all around and the eye and mouth holes fit nicely as well.

It was nice and cooling and refreshing while on the face, and once removed the serum sank in nicely and wasn't sticky or tacky at all. I found this to be very hydrating and my face seemed to be a bit brighter and more radiant and all seemed good for about a minute...but then my cheeks and forehead started to get a little splotchy.

Once I layered on my skincare though (I'm testing out the Mizon Snail Repair line) it seemed to take the majority of it down right away...about 90% of the splotchiness seemed to disappear by the time I was done applying the ampoule, serum and cream.

During that first minute after removal I would've said that this would be a nice filler mask, but once my face started to get splotchy I obviously changed my mind so this is going to be a pass for me. I am coming to find that I love the jelly serum masks though. VERDICT

This mud sheet mask is AWESOME. It provides a no mess easy application and it feels cooling and refreshing on the face once it's on. Also, unlike the AprilSkin Mummy Mud Mask which left behind a lot of the mud on the plastic backing, the mud for this sheet mask actually completely remained in the actual sheet mask so you were getting the benefit of every morsel of the mud on your face. Also, in terms of fit, it does completely fit my face lengthwise (it even covered my ginormous forehead), but it was not big enough widthwise to cover the side perimeter of my face.

I was a bit concerned at first as I had applied it over my eyebrows (they were completely covered as you can see in the pic below) and I was worried it would pull and tug out my eyebrow hairs when I removed the mask as it dried and hardened on my face much like a nose pore strip does, but turns out there was no need to worry. It didn't hurt at all and didn't pull or tug on my eyebrow hairs at all. They remained completely intact.

It was actually an odd mixture of having a strong pull which was effective at removing the dead skin cells and pulling everything out as it had dried and hardened and completely stuck to my face really well, yet being very gentle at the same time and being easy to pull off with no pain or irritation and pulling out of hairs.

Once off, my skin was left feeling SOOOOOOOO soft and smooth and amazing! It definitely relaxed my stressed out skin, tightened my pores, was hydrating, and it brightened my face as well to boot. I have had a long and fun, but stressful week that consisted of long days which culminated in a back to back 18 hour and 19 hour day running around both of which started at 6AM, so my face was stressed out and rebelling which is why I figured today was the best time to try this out. I am not a morning person and I hate waking up early, but I was pretty much up at 6AM the majority of the week and me and my skin were not a happy camper, but this totally de-stressed it and calmed it down leaving me and my skin detoxed and happy.

I would definitely recommend giving this a go. You will not be disappointed. I can't wait to try out the other variation of this mud sheet mask and stock up on some more of these...I'm also glad to be back home and back to my normal schedule.

VERDICT

March 2nd, 2016: Not that I've tried a ton of clay/mud masks, but surprisingly this is my favorite thus far...and as someone with combo skin, I think this is an awesome product for people in the same group as me.

I feel like a lot of the time products are marketed for either dry skin or oily skin, but there really isn't a lot out there specifically for combo skin, and while this isn't specifically targeted/marketed towards combo skin, I think it does a great job of addressing both issues so really when you think about it, it's an overall great product for ALL skin types as it's gentle enough for dry skin, but still strong and tough enough to tackle all the dirty gunk.

A lot of the times I have to multi-task and use different products on different parts of my face which can get a bit annoying, but with this I can just slather just the one product on my face and be done with it knowing that it did a fantastic job of cleaning out my pores whilst still keeping my face nice and hydrated...in fact it actually feels more moisturized than before I used the mask. After the 15 minutes are up my skin feels so unbelievably clean and fresh and soft and smooth and supple like a baby's bottom. It really is so fresh and so clean! Green Tea & Witch Hazel help to unclog pores & purify

Cucumber & Chamomile help to condition and soothe

Tea Tree & Salicylic Acid help to control oil & acne

Aloe Vera & Vitamin E help to moisturize skin

Vitamin C helps to brighten skin...not so much

To be honest, it was a bit of a rocky start for me and this product...mainly because I wasn't and am still not a fan of the packaging...and by packaging I mean the bright neon paint splatter design not the actual mechanism of the package. The screw cap mechanism I actually really like because I can just squeeze the product out like toothpaste which makes the application process a breeze and sanitary.

I know you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but I couldn't help myself...I was having a "mean girl" moment and I judged it by it's cover and had negative preconceptions about the product and almost didn't even try it...but I caught myself and was like no I should give it a chance and try it at least once so with no expectations whatsoever I gave it a go and boy am I glad I did. I will most definitely purchase a full size of this once I run out of my sample, which by the way a little goes a long way.

P.S. This product truly does heat up on your face. Not to a warm sensation like it states, but like it actually has a kick to it and will seriously heat up to an almost but not quite an unbearable state...it gets right up to that line but doesn't cross it point, so if you have super sensitive skin you might not be able to handle the heat. I was able to manage though and I feel like it really does make a difference in getting deep down to clean out the pores. Just to be safe though I would try it out on a little patch of skin first.
