September 22nd, 2018: Oy, another product I did not like. I am just on a negative Nancy train this week, but I gotta be honest, so here I am again with yet another negative review.

This was terrible. I was so excited to try this, it was my first time trying anything from Drybar, and I was so disappointed. This actually left my hair feeling "dirty" and grungy even though I had just washed it and oh my goodness the scent...this has such an overpoweringly strong perfume-y scent it gave me a headache and that scent haunted me and drove me crazy until I finally washed my hair again because the scent DOES NOT dissipate. I could still smell it in my hair 2 days later and it was still trying to give me a low key headache. Why I didn't just wash it out of my hair sooner, especially since it did not give me volume and was also terrible and made my hair feel gross I do not know...I don't know what I was thinking, but I was miserable from the moment this first touched my hair in the shower until I finally washed it out.

For me, I personally like my hair to be silky soft and smooth and to be able to actually run my fingers through my hair. That's my personal preference. This was the complete opposite of that. This gave my hair so much unnecessary sticky grit and texture my hair was actually tangling and my hair never tangles. I don't know if that was the point? Maybe it's supposed to be that way so you can fluff it up and back comb your hair to give it volume? I don't know, but even if it had worked though and volumized my hair, I would rather my hair be flat and limp then the gross sticky gritty texture it gave my hair. There's a reason why I avoid texturizing sprays and hair spray...you'll most likely never see me review one because I don't like that sticky gritty texture in my hair. Also, it was heavy. This claims to be lightweight, but it's not...at all.

Again, I don't know if this purposefully is sticky and gritty and if that is what's supposed to give you volume, but you don't need that texture for volume. I just tried a volumizing conditioner from Pantene and that one actually does help to volumize my hair without any of this mess AND it's so much cheaper. It still leaves my hair silky smooth and soft and I can still run my fingers through my hair whilst still giving me some volume (full review forthcoming), so this is completely unnecessary...unless you're doing like a complicated hairdo or an updo or something and you need that grip to hold it in place...this would probably do fantastically for that. It would probably hold your hair in place like superglue, but other than that I see no use for this...unless you like that kind of texture in your hair.

If you're the complete opposite of me and that's what you're looking for, or you just need crazy amounts of texture for an updo or something, than you'll love this. Otherwise, if you're like me, I'd say stay away...even though it does have cute packaging.

September 21st, 2018: Oh no. No, no. no, no, no. I may have only tried this once, but that was enough to know that I don't like this and will never use it again. I just recently hated on a product, so I hate to be so negative back to back, but no. No, no, no.

Why is it that expensive more luxury brands always seem to have a strong perfume-y scent? What's up with that? What about us people who are very sensitive to smells? On the one hand I guess it's good for my wallet because it will deter me from more expensive luxury products, but let me not digress. As you can guess, this has a very strong perfume-y scent that I DID NOT enjoy...a scent that did not go away with rinsing this off my face. Not only that, this is a cream cleanser. Not a creamy cleanser, but truly a cream cleanser as the name implies.

Now I've tried creamy cleanser formula's before, but this one...the formula of this cleanser legit looks and feels like a moisturizer...a heavy cream moisturizer that was suffocating feeling on my skin. Perhaps if you have very dry skin and want some heavy duty moisture with your cleanser than you would like it, but for me it was too much...way too much. It felt like I was cleansing my face with a super emollient moisturizer, which is not what I want. I want my cleansers to be light and airy and make my face feel clean and refreshed...fresh being the operative word, but this...this just weighed my skin down and made it feel not clean.

I'm all for a hydrating cleanser that doesn't strip the skin, but this was overkill in my opinion. Unless you have obnoxiously dry skin or you actually like that heavy duty emollient suffocating feeling, I say pass. Pass, pass, pass.

If you're looking for a hydrating cleanser than I would recommend Innisfree's Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam: https://ahnspired.blogspot.com/2016/01/innisfree_30.html or First Aid Beauty's Face Cleanser: https://ahnspired.blogspot.com/2016/01/first-aid-beauty.html which have a creamy hydrating formula without feeling like an emollient moisturizer.

Also, if I'm going to splurge on a cleanser I would much rather spend my money on Youth to the People's Kale + Spinach + Green Tea Superfood Cleanser: https://ahnspired.blogspot.com/2017/05/youth-to-people-skincare.html, which is so much better in my opinion and pricey, but still cheaper than this one.

September 20th, 2018: I know hate is a strong word, but oh my god I hate this mascara. This has a super liquid-y wet formula that gets EVERYWHERE. I've never had such a messy mascara application in my life. Not only did it get ALL over my eyelids, it even transferred onto my lower lashes and coated them in mascara every time I blinked in addition to smudging all over my lower lash line...which wasn't even the worst part.

The worst thing about this mascara is that it turns your eyelashes into velcro...very weak worn velcro that isn't strong enough to rip your lashes from your eyelid, but nonetheless there was enough stick that every time I blinked my eyes my upper and lower lashes would stick and "velcro" together before separating again when I opened my eyes and therefore I could feel my lashes every single time I blinked, which was crazy annoying...and I mean CRAZY ANNOYING...and it remained that way. That velcro feeling did not go away with time, so yeah...I ended up just having to take if off after an hour or so because I just couldn't take it anymore...so this is a definite pass in my book.

Oh and also, aside from the debacle mentioned above, this doesn't even do anything for the lashes. It maybe lengthens the teeny tiniest bit, but other than that nothing. No volume, which yeah it doesn't claim to be volumizing, but definitely no curling either, which this is called the power curling mascara, but nope...there was no power curling. Not even a regular curling. My lashes fell so limp.

I hate to be so negative, especially without mentioning at least one positive, but I honestly cannot find one redeeming quality about this product...the application process sucks, it does nothing for my lashes, it bothers and annoys me after application and it doesn't even have cute packaging. This was just an all around dud and disappointment for me...although perhaps I actually did get a dud? The picture of this product (as seen above) shows a curved mascara wand, but mine wasn't curved at all. It had an ever so slightly, and I mean slightly...like maybe a 2 degree slant, not curve but slant, to the wand...like I had accidentally bent it. I mean does this look curved to you?

So maybe it's possible my entire tube is just a dud product? This is me trying to not be such a hater and try and find some type of positive, but at any rate that was my experience with this mascara and if you couldn't tell by now, I do not recommend giving this a go.
